The Band

Love & Order is not merely a musical liberation. The lyrics are critical expeditions into the state of our society and dives into the shallows of our vulnerable souls: catharsis for a society of elbows. Love & Order is relevant for the Austrian music scene.

The Gap (transl. from German)

We come from the Waldviertel, a rural corner of Lower Austria. Ines and Alexander live in Vienna now, Arnold and Matthias stayed, and David is somewhere in Europe at the moment, not yet sure where he will end up. We say 2005. We had been playing before that, but that is when it was settled who was in and what we were after. The first record followed two years later.

Alexander, Arnold and Matthias have been doing this for around twenty years. Six albums and a live EP later, we are still working out how loud and how quiet a song can be at the same time.

The distance between Vienna and the Waldviertel is part of the method. Ideas start alone on a guitar, travel back and forth, and only become songs in the rehearsal room and the studio. Alexander writes all the lyrics, the music comes together as a band.

Our process is stubborn and follows no trend. Some of it takes years, we work slightly outside of time, and we have stopped apologising for that. We have also stopped apologising for still chasing the same thing after twenty years.

"We challenge our listeners because we want to be challenged too."

  • Alexander Lausch Guitars, Lead Vocals

He gave the band its name and writes all the lyrics, usually on impulse and in places where people do not write lyrics. Produces the records himself and cheerfully calls himself a nerd who never finishes learning. For him, making music is part of becoming a person.

  • Arnold Zanon Bass, Backing Vocals

The oldest of us and at the same time the youngest. Plays from the gut, reads people faster than sheet music, and gives the band its grounding on stage and off it.

  • Matthias Fröhlich Drums, Backing Vocals

Plays unleashed and precise at once: inventive, absorbed, entirely calm inside. Has been compared to John Bonham without ever really having listened to Led Zeppelin.

  • Ines Dallaji Backing Vocals, Percussion

The soul in the background. Her second voice holds together what would otherwise fall apart and gives the songs their finish. She has an ear for melody, and there is no stopping her on the tambourine.

  • David Ruhmer Percussion, Backing Vocals

Tirelessly creative, infectiously optimistic, and crashing across the whole stage with his percussion.

Our last album, Love & Order, came out in 2023, followed by the singles Luck and Fortitude. In April 2026 we played Arena Vienna at the Echoes of Erebos Festival. Our cover of I Wanna Dance With Somebody came out on 25 September 2026, and our own single Audition follows on 23 October. We keep writing new songs alongside that.
